Strategic visual design intern

The SIX team is looking for an energetic and efficient person with design skills, who will enjoy working in a socially driven and growing organisation. If you are looking for a 3-6 month London (UK) based position in an international non-profit organisation, we would love to hear from you.

The role

SIX is seeking a strategic visual design intern to work with our team members to help design and communicate SIX’s programmes, projects and approach to our global network. We are looking for someone passionate about innovation as a vehicle to people living better lives, who can help turn what we do into clearly communicable visuals.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an intern with a graphic design or communication service design background, who is passionate about finding better ways to communicate and illustrate our work using these skills:

Technical skills

  • Strong design skills (educated to degree level with a background in graphic or communication service design)

  • Strong knowledge of the Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Photoshop especially)

  • User focused design experience (or innovation management)

  • Web design and prototyping skills (non-compulsory)

  • Knowledge of another European language (non-compulsory)

Soft skills

  • A willingness to work as part of a team, and to be flexible and collaborative in your work

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (from different backgrounds, sectors and countries)

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to be self motivated and highly organised, with effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Working time

We are looking for an intern to work between 2-4 days a week starting in January 2019 for 3-6 months. To be discussed on application.
