Description: Joeri van den Steenhoven (1971) is chairman and co-founder of the Knowledgeland thinktank (KL). Founded in 1999, its mission is to make Dutch society smarter. Or in more official words, to help establish the Netherlands as one of the key regions in the international knowledge economy in a way that creates both economic and social value. To this purpose KL does research, develops projects and creates networks that make Dutch society smarter. All these activities are interventions that help bring forward social change. Some examples are Digital Pioneers and the Kafkabrigade. At KL Joeri van den Steenhoven leads a team of about 15 people. He advises government and public sector organisators on innovation, creativity and the knowledge society. Also, he writes and speaks regularly on these themes. Joeri is living in Amsterdam with his wife and son.
