Summer School on Social Innovation
The Programme
Recovery Through Innovation – a global perspective
How can we turn crisis into opportunity? With the recent global recession creating fertile ground for grassroots action and creative experimentation, and an emerging new dynamic between central and local government, the third sector and business, how can social innovation provide a new framework for linking the global dynamics of recession to action on the ground?
This year’s programme so far combines 9 key note speakers (and counting!), open space sessions, plenty of time for collaborative working on a 2 day project, and opportunities to visit the best of social innovation in Portugal. There will also be lots of time for networking to maximise the exchange of ideas, experiences and thoughts.
The three main themes of the summer school will be:
15 July afternoon - ‘Innovation in a crisis – where are we now?’
16 July all day – ‘Turning crisis into opportunity’
17 July morning – ‘Using crisis to promote innovation’To review the draft programme, please click on the file below.
There will be an opportunity to visit some projects around Lisbon in the morning of the 15th. If you would like to join one of these visits, please make sure you are available from 9 am on 15 July.
