Description: Since 2006 I work as an Adviser to the State Secretary of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (Portugal) in the areas of Citizenship and Gender Equality. Personally I’m involved both formally and informally in several social movements. Namely, I’m on of the Vice President of Civitas, a Non Governmental Organization historically related to poverty issues in Portugal. I am also the Vice President of the European Association for Human Rights Defense that brings together Human Rights associations of several European countries. I am interested in finding better methods to address public participation and to improve the quality of democracy. I would also like to learn new and more effective ways of structuring the work of organizations in order to take the most out of its intervention in society.

Description: I work as Legal Adviser to the State Secretary for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in Portugal since 2005, where I serve in the preparation of legislation to be submitted to the Portuguese Council of Ministers. I am also directly involved in the implementation of the Portuguese Better Law-Making and Regulation Programme, adopted to improve the quality of legislation and the efficiency of the law-making process, as well as to enhance public participation and acessibility to legislation.
