The submission proposes that the Australian government support for innovation does not give appropriate priority to social innovation and the critical social and environmental challenges that face the nation. It proposes that greater attention is required to the tools, infrastructure support and processes of social innovation; the barriers faced by social entrepreneurs and innovators to successful launch, testing and scaling of solutions; and the need for increased financial and human resources.
