Money-saving ideas from Simpl
Simpl is a social innovation market place, where schemes to improve public services, share resources and increase accessibility are exchanged. When Simpl hosted the Interactivism: Accessibilty Hack Weekend, the social innovation marketplace was flooded with innovative suggestions and proposals on how to improve online accessibility for older people. Two of these were Spotted, a user-generated content app designed to bring together reviews and
suggestions on usability and accessibility of design and places, and Go For Local,
a portal designed to help users locate nearby services, complete with
profiles and reviews, each of which encourages community involvement to
improve local services. The Simpl marketplace has also been used to help libraries overcome challenges related to cuts and finding their place in the digital age, creating a sharing network among councils, drawing on each other's resources rather than seeking out external supplies, revolutionising care and support while saving money for councils to mention a few.
